Plugin Installation

Instructions for installing Appointment Booking For Business on your WordPress site.

1. Quick Install

  • Log in to your WordPress admin panel.
  • Go to Plugins page and click “Add New” button.
  • In the “Search Plugins” field, search for “Appointment Booking For Business
  • Click “Install Now” on the Appointment Booking For Business search result.
  • After installation just activate the plugin.

2. Manual Install

  • Log in to your WordPress admin panel.
  • Go to Plugins page Add New > Upload Plugin.
  • Click “Choose file” then select the Appointment Booking For Business plugin zip file.
  • Then just activate the plugin.

Create A Booking Calendar

Instructions for creating a booking calendar and embeding it into a page or post.

1. Create your calendar

  • Log in to your WordPress admin panel.
  • Go to “Booking For Business” in the left menu and click “Calendars
  • Click “Create calendar” button at the top of the page
  • Enter a name for your new calendar in the “Calendar name” field.
  • If you would like to add an extra (service add-on) you can search and select any you have created. Please see next section for creating an extra.
  • Set your time-slot duration that you will allow your customers to book
  • Set time-slot price and select preferred currency from the drop down (optional). Leave blank if you would not like to display any price.
  • Set your daily available times.
  • Set your daily unavailable times (optional).
  • Using the visual calendar, select any dates in which you would like to block your customers from booking (such as weekends or holidays) by clicking on your first date to the next date and click “mark unavailable” button. If you would like to block just one day, double click on the date to display the “mark unavailable” button. You can block dates up to one year in advance.
  • Click “create” to save your new calendar.

2. Create an extra (add-on pricing service)

You can create “Extras” and link them to your calendar to offer your customers any additional optional add-on upsell services or charges

 

  • Log in to your WordPress admin panel.
  • Go to “Booking For Business” in the left menu and click “Extras
  • Click “Create extra” button at the top of the page
  • Enter a name for your extra describing what the add-on service is in the “Extra name” field. Note: this name will be visible to the user when they fill out the booking form.
  • Enter a value into the “Price” Field.
  • Select your operator. If you would like to set a fixed price for the “Extra” select the “+” operator. If you would like to use a percentage, select the “%” operator. This will generate a percentage price based off your “Slot Price” within the calendar settings.
  • Click create
  • Now you can go into any calendar and link the extra from the “Linked Extras” field.

3. Adding a calendar to a page or post

  • Log in to your WordPress admin panel.
  • Go to “Booking For Business” in the left menu and click “Calendars
  • Copy the shortcode in the “Shortcode” column for the calendar you would like to embed
  • Open any page or post that would like to embed the calendar into and paste the shortcode into the editor. If you are using WordPress 5.0, you can also paste the shortcode in the “Shortcode” block included in the Gutenberg editor.
  • Click publish on your page and post. Your calendar will now be available for your customers to start booking appointments.

4. Changing calendar timezone

By default, your calendars will be set to the timezone defined within the WordPress general settings. If you would like to change the timezone follow the instructions below.

 

  • Log in to your WordPress admin panel.
  • Go to “Settings” in the left menu and click “General
  • Find the “Timezonedrop down field, and select your desired timezone.
  • Click “Save Changes“. Your calendars will now be set to the timezone you have just selected.

5. Changing notifications email

By default, when a customer makes a booking, an email will be sent to the admin email defined within the WordPress general settings. If you would like to change the email follow the instructions below.

 

  • Log in to your WordPress admin panel.
  • Go to “Settings” in the left menu and click “General
  • Find the “Email” field, and enter your desired email address where notification emails will go.
  • Click “Save Changes“.

Managing Your Bookings

Instructions for managing all your active bookings made through your calendar(s).

1. View scheduled appointments

  • Log in to your WordPress admin panel.
  • Go to “Booking For Business” in the left menu and click “Scheduled Appointments
  • This page contains all the bookings made by your customers through your booking calendar(s).
  • You can sort bookings by clicking on the column headers of “Customer“, “Date“, “Created Time“, “Calendar“, or “ID“.
  • Click into any booking to view more details such as customer email and appointment information.

2. Cancel a scheduled appointment

  • Log in to your WordPress admin panel.
  • Go to “Booking For Business” in the left menu and click “Scheduled Appointments
  • This page contains all the bookings made by your customers through your booking calendar(s).
  • Click into the desired appointment / booking that you would like to cancel.
  • Click the “Delete” button at the bottom of the page to cancel the appointment / booking.
  • Customer will be notified by email that booking was canceled automatically.
